Big Wins

The Celtics have won 2 games in a row beating the Toronto Raptors 103-96, and the Miami Heat in dramatic fashion 112-106 in overtime. The game against the Heat was one of the most amazing games I have ever seen in my whole life. Let me break down the end of the game for you. Dwayne Wade gets fouled with 5.5 seconds left on the clock and went to the line to shoot 2 shots. He hit them both and tied the game at 97 all. The Celtics called a timeout and got the ball at half court and inbounded it to Ray Allen and he was covered by Wade and went to go by him but slipped and Wade stole the ball and dunked it with .6 seconds left. The Celtics called a timeout again to draw up an alley-oop play. So Paul Pierce was inbounding the ball and Glen Davis set a back scren for Rajon Rondo and Pierce threw the ball to the rim and Rondo went up, caught it, and layed it in before the time ran out. That tied the game and sent it into overtime. Then after that the Celtics took all the momentum and won the game in overtime. Rondo finished the game with 25 points, 8 assists, and 3 steals.

Winning....With Problems

The Celtics have been playing really good basketball lately, but are at a loss because Paul Pierce has an infection in his knee and hasn’t played in the last 2 games. They beat the Orlando Magic on Christmas Day 86-77 and then lost to the Los Angeles Clippers 92-90; which should not have happened at all. The Celtics are so much better than the Clippers and should have never lost and it was kind of sad to watch because they didn’t play well at all. But anyway, the game after that they lost to another bad team that they should have beat, the Golden state Warriors 103-99. Then they lost again to the Phoenix Suns who are good but not as good as the Celtics, 116-98. Then they finally got back on track when they beat the Toronto Raptors 103-96, and they won without Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Rajon Rondo. They only had two of their original five starter’s play which was Ray Allen and Kendrick Perkins. The other starters were Tony Allen, Eddie House, and J.R. Giddens. The Celtics bench played really well and got good games from Ray Allen, Eddie House, Glen Davis, Lester Hudson, and Tony Allen. Let’s see if they can keep the winning going this Wednesday when they play the Miami Heat in Miami at 7:30 pm.

Depressing

I can’t believe the Celtics lost to the 76ers. They are so much better than them and they should have never lost. I can’t believe it! It was a depressing game to watch. The Celtics were all over the place. They had no control and they played terrible. They lost the game 98-97. They had two shots at the end to win the game by Paul Pierce AND Ray Allen! I can’t believe neither of them made the shot. That is so unlike either of them. They both are very good shooters in those kind of clutch situations but they didn’t come through. They really needed to pick up there play in the next game and they did when they took on the Minnesota Timberwolves at home and won 122-104. The loss to the 76ers ruined their 12 game winning streak. Let's see if they can start another one with their second win in a row tonight at 7:30 pm when the Indiana Pacers come to town.

Big Night

Tonight is the night the Celtics try to push their winning streak to 11 games when they take on the 76ers of Philadelphia at 7:30 pm at home. It will be a very big and important game that when they win will keep the streak alive and hopefully they keep it going till their big showdown with the Orlando Magic on Christmas day to give them moment and high spirits going into that game. Let's see how they fair out the rest of the way till Christmas. Check the blog for updates after the 76ers game.

When Will They Lose Again?

The Celtics are still winning by pushing their winning streak to 11 games now after they beat the Memphis Grizzlies 110-105. Their record is now 20-4 and it seems like they will never lose again. They are playing amazing basketball but they are having some problems. They definitely are not playing to their full potential, and they won 11 in a row. I wonder if they would be undefeated at 24-0 if they had played to their full potential all season long. That would be really cool if they did because 24-0 would be a nasty record. 20-4 is a pretty good record anyway but 24-0 would be even better. Lets see if they can push the winning streak to 12 games this Friday when they take on the Philadelphia 76ers @ home @7:30 pm. If they can push this record all the way to Christmas, their game Christmas day is going to be amazing when they take on the Orlando Magic. Hopefully they will beat them and get tie up the score at 1-1 on the season.

Streak Still Alive

The Boston Celtics kept their win streak alive this past weekend by beating the Washington Wizards 104-102 and the Chicago Bulls 106-80. They pushed the winning streak to 10 games now. I love being a Celtics fan; especially now because the past few years have been some of the best the franchise has ever seen. You could compare it to the 60s, 70s and 80s teams that won all the NBA titles. The big three from the 60s, 70s, and 80s was Larry Bird, Bill Russell, and Bill Walton; and you could compare today’s big three of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen to them. They have been together for 3 years now and have already brought another NBA title to Boston. I could only imagine how good the Celtics would be if those 6 guys were all on the same team at the same time. They wouldn’t have lost a game. It would have been impossible for anyone to beat them. They would probably win al the NBA titles. So anyway, the Celtics are still on their winning streak and are going to try and push it to 11 games on the road tonight when they go into Memphis to take on O.J. Mayo, Rudi Gay, and the Grizzlies.
