NEED a strong finish

The Celtics ended the month of March lossing 3 of 5 games. They fell to the Utah Jazz on the road, the San Antonio Spurs at home, and the Oklahoma City Thunder at home. They beat the Sacramento kings at home, and the Denver Nuggets also at home. It was deffinitely a let down the way they ended the month. They should have ended it alot stronger than they did. They should have beat Utah and Oklahoma City. It should have been a 4-1 record to close the month, not 2-3. They need to have a huge April to close out the season going into the playoffs. They need some confidence and morale boosts. That will be key in the playoffs this year. They close out the season with thses teams, played in order of, at home against the Houston Rockets, and at home again against the Cleveland Cavaliers, then they go on the road to play the New York Knicks and their former teammate, Eddie House. Then they go to Toronto to take on Chris Bosh and the Raptors, then back at home against the Washington Wizards, then two on the Road against the Bucks of Milwaukee and the Bulls of Chicago, then they finish at home against the Milwaukee Bucks again. The Celtics reallllly NEED a big surge to cose out the season. It is a must that they execute the way they should and play how we all know they can play. Lets see how they do closing out a tough fought season. Go Celts!

Ending Strong?

The Celtics took their first 2 games in Texas by beating the Houston Rockets 94-87 and then beat the Dallas Mavericks 102-93. Tonight they travel to Utah to take on Derron Williams and the Jazz. Lets see what team is playing music at the end of this one. Hopefully it's the Celtics. They have a tough end to this month but with the way they are playign ball right now, nobody can beat them. They have to, HAVE to keep up this style of play for the rest of the season AND into the playoffs as well. They close out the month of March with 4 games at home against in order, the Denver Nuggets, the Sacramento Kings, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Celtics have not been great at home and if they can win these four games not only would it make them have a 9 game win streak, but it will also prove something to themselves. It will show them that they are becoming a strong team at home, which every team should be; especially the Celtics with the veterans that they have. Lets see how they do come the end of the month. Go Celtics!

Tough Months End

The Celtics have a rough road ahead of them to close out the month of March. Tonight they play at home against a tough Detroit Pistons team who have gotten their starting point guard, Rodney Stuckey back after he colapsed on the bench two weeks ago while playing in Cleveland. Next the Celtics welcome the Knicks into the Garden for another showdown and the return of Eddie House once again; should be fun to watch. Then they go on the road for three games as they travel to Houston to take on the Rockets, then a few miles away to play against the surging Dallas Mavericks, and finally to close out the road trip they travel to Utah to take on Derron Williams and the Jazz. After that they are home for four games as they invite one of the power houses of the West in the Denver Nuggets into town, then rookie sensation Tyreke Evans and his Sacramento Kings come into town, next is Mr. Tim Duncan and the San Anotonio Spurs, and finally to close out the month they welcome in Mr. "35" Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Lets see if they can get off to a good start and close out this month right. If they play like they are suppose to and like we all know they can, then they should win atleast 8 of the 9 games. They have three real tough games which are against Dallas, Denver, and San Antonio. 6 of those 9 games are tough but these are the three power houses of the West, along with the Lakers. Tonight they take on Detroit which is a game I will be attending actually. I'm so pumped for it because I have not been to a game in a long time. The last time I went to a game, the Celtics still had Delonte West, who has been playing in Cleveland for atleast 4 years by now. So it has deffinitely been awhile. Tonight should be a good game and I can't wait to see Rondo play in person; It's going to be awesome.

Strong On The Road....Weak At Home?

The Celtics were able to pick up a much needed win last night when they traveled to Detroit to take on the Pistons. They were able to pull out a 105-100 win. I'm glad the Celts are winning, but what I dont understand is why are they not better at home? If you look at their home record, which is 16-11, and you look at their road record, which is 21-10, obviously you will notice that they are much better on the road. What about the saying, " You must protect your house", or "No one beats you in your own gym"? They need to start using that mentality, otherwise, come playoff time, if they can't win at home, they are going to be screwed. I'm not the only Celtic fan who has notice this slip at home. I'm just actually comming out and saying something about it because I love basketball and I LOVE the Celtics and I want them to be the best team they can be. I want to see another NBA championship brought back to Boston; I mean who doesnt? But if that is going to happen again anytime soon, their play at home, their agression, their enthusiasm, all that needs to be stepped up. Let's see how the Celtics fair tonight when they take on the Charlotte Bobcats at HOME tonight at 7:30 pm. Hopefully they can start protecting their house.

Update

It's been awhile since I updated this blog. I have been pretty busy with school and sports and other classes and such, but now I'm back. Anyway, the Celtics have been really struggling as of late. They have dropped out of 1st place in the East, now 4th, still 1st in their division, and have also dropped low in the standings for best team in the league. They are now behind the Lakers, Nuggets, Mavs, and Magic. You know nothing is going good when a team who won the NBA championship 2 years ago, losses to a team that has a total of 5 wins the entire season. Yeah, the Celtics lost to the New Jersey Nets who had 5 wins going into the game and 48 loses. It was the most depressing game ever to watch and it makes me feel bad that I am a Celtics fan after watching that performance. It was pathetic and they really need to step up and stop looking forward to the playoffs. Doing that is going to screw them over in the long run. They need to worry about their games right now, not when they are in the playoffs. Anyway, the Celtics have also acquired a new player that goes by the name of Nate Robinson. They got him from the Knicks for Eddie House, Bill Walker, and J.R. Giddens. It is sad that they traded away Eddie House because he was loved alot in Boston and he was one of my favorite Celtic players. He had a great standing obation when he made his return to Boston when they played the Knicks. It was nice to see that. Same with Bill Walker and J.R. Giddens. So let's see if the Celtics can pick up their play and get back on the right track.

Big Wins

The Celtics have won 2 games in a row beating the Toronto Raptors 103-96, and the Miami Heat in dramatic fashion 112-106 in overtime. The game against the Heat was one of the most amazing games I have ever seen in my whole life. Let me break down the end of the game for you. Dwayne Wade gets fouled with 5.5 seconds left on the clock and went to the line to shoot 2 shots. He hit them both and tied the game at 97 all. The Celtics called a timeout and got the ball at half court and inbounded it to Ray Allen and he was covered by Wade and went to go by him but slipped and Wade stole the ball and dunked it with .6 seconds left. The Celtics called a timeout again to draw up an alley-oop play. So Paul Pierce was inbounding the ball and Glen Davis set a back scren for Rajon Rondo and Pierce threw the ball to the rim and Rondo went up, caught it, and layed it in before the time ran out. That tied the game and sent it into overtime. Then after that the Celtics took all the momentum and won the game in overtime. Rondo finished the game with 25 points, 8 assists, and 3 steals.

Winning....With Problems

The Celtics have been playing really good basketball lately, but are at a loss because Paul Pierce has an infection in his knee and hasn’t played in the last 2 games. They beat the Orlando Magic on Christmas Day 86-77 and then lost to the Los Angeles Clippers 92-90; which should not have happened at all. The Celtics are so much better than the Clippers and should have never lost and it was kind of sad to watch because they didn’t play well at all. But anyway, the game after that they lost to another bad team that they should have beat, the Golden state Warriors 103-99. Then they lost again to the Phoenix Suns who are good but not as good as the Celtics, 116-98. Then they finally got back on track when they beat the Toronto Raptors 103-96, and they won without Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Rajon Rondo. They only had two of their original five starter’s play which was Ray Allen and Kendrick Perkins. The other starters were Tony Allen, Eddie House, and J.R. Giddens. The Celtics bench played really well and got good games from Ray Allen, Eddie House, Glen Davis, Lester Hudson, and Tony Allen. Let’s see if they can keep the winning going this Wednesday when they play the Miami Heat in Miami at 7:30 pm.
